Le PSY1 : la journée de tests

La sélection · Lesson 3 of 4•2 min read•14 exercises

One problem, one number

Most problems end in a box. Type the number only, since the unit’s printed after the box, and use a point for decimals. This one asks you to round, and an answer that isn’t rounded counts as wrong.

Problem 1

An aircraft has 372 seats and is 60% full. How many seats are empty? Round to the nearest whole seat.

One problem, five answers

Five in every thirty give you five answers to pick from. Click one. You can change it until you hand in.

Problem 2

Two aircraft are 1425 km apart and fly straight towards each other, one at 390 km/h and the other at 180 km/h. Both take off at 06:45. At what time do they meet?

ENAC Mathématiques

Thirty word problems on percentages, speeds, work rates, shapes and clocks, with a pen and paper but no calculator. You type most answers as a number and pick a few from five. The exam format is 30 problems in 35 minutes.

ENAC Mosaic Count

A black figure made of 16 tiles in a 4 × 4 square, with no lines between them. Count how many there are of each of the ten kinds and type each count under its tile, with a 0 for every kind that isn’t there. The exam format is 24 boards in 10 minutes.

ENAC Sustained Attention

You see four characters in four places: NW, NE, SW and SE. Then each board shows four grids of characters, one in each place, and for each place you say whether its own character is in its grid. The grids are built from those same four characters, so only the one that belongs to the place counts. The exam format is 3 series of 5 boards, with 3 minutes for each series.

ENAC Lecture de Textes

10 short texts, 2 questions on each, 4 answers to choose from. Everything you need is in the text, so you answer from what it says, not from what you know. The exam format is 10 texts in 20 minutes.

ENAC Law and Anti-Law

Three numbers, words or figures obey a hidden law, and three don't. Under them are 8 propositions: tick every one that obeys the law. Numbers, words and figures are mixed through the run. The exam format is 35 boards in 30 minutes, and you're free to move between boards and change your ticks until you hand in.

ENAC Tetralogy of Angles

Read which way a small clock runs, then measure the turn from one line to another in that direction. In the ENAC EPL form you type 40 angles in four parts of 10: over a picture, between an arrow and a point, around a cross, and as an object to straighten. In the Air France Cadets form you get a figure and 8 clocks, each printing a value, and you tick every clock that matches the angle.

ENAC Dials Reading

Eight car and aircraft dials, with a table underneath that has a column for each of their ten readings. Tick the value each dial shows. You get to study the dials before the clock starts, and they stay put for the whole run. The exam format is 10 boards in 6 minutes.

ENAC Patrons de Dés

A die with a letter or a rune on each face, two or three views of it, and its net laid flat with the cells numbered. Type under each symbol the number of the cell it goes in. The symbols are already turned the way they lie on the net, so the cell you pick decides how each one sits on the die. The exam format is two parts of 10 boards, 20:00 a part for Air France Cadets and 17:00 for the ENAC EPL.

ENAC Reversed Series

Digits come up one at a time in the same spot, a second each. When they’ve gone, you type them back in reverse, the last one first. The sequences grow from 4 to 9 digits. The exam format is 12 sequences, about 3:30.

ENAC Running Comparison

A stream of simple calculations, one at a time. For each one, tick whether its result is identical to or different from the one it's compared with: the result just before, the one two back, or a fixed value X, depending on the block. The exam format is 100 answers in four blocks of 25, about 12 minutes.

ENAC Figure Matrices

A 3 × 3 matrix of figures with the bottom-right square missing, and 8 options to complete it. The rules run along the rows, down the columns and across the diagonals, and a board often has two or three at once. The exam format is 30 boards in 30 minutes, and you can move between boards and change your answers until you hand in.

ENAC Mental Calculation

Four series of ten boards, back to back, each on its own clock. You type the result of a chain of additions and subtractions, type the value of the last letter in a small system, choose the narrowest of 10 intervals that holds a result, then tick every one of 7 intervals that does. On the ENAC EPL form, every chain in the first series ends on a multiplication and each series gets 4 minutes. On the Air France Cadets form, the first series is sums only and each series gets 6 minutes.

ENAC Psychomoteur

Four tasks at once, with two joysticks and the keyboard. You hold a cross inside a small circle that moves around a large one, keep four gauges centred, mark the named letters in each row of nine, and type the result of each calculation. Each task's weight is on screen and changes from phase to phase. And while any task is under its line, the total drops to 0.

ENAC Memory N-Back

Letters come up one at a time, and for each one you say whether it’s the same letter as the one three, four or five before it. Capitals and small letters count as the same. The exam format is two tests back to back: a 3-back then a 4-back for ENAC EPL, a 4-back then a 5-back for Air France Cadets. It hasn’t been set since 2020.
