ENAC Odd and Even
Neuro-SensomotoricPSY0A board of numbered circles, scattered over the whole screen. Starting from START, click every one, odd and even in turn, with the odd numbers in ascending order and the even ones in ascending order, each on its own. A wrong click sends you back to START. The exam format is 5 boards with 90 seconds each.
Overview
The board sets two traps. The next number is often lower than the one you just clicked, and some numbers sit only one or two apart. So say the kind you're after, odd or even, and keep the cursor on the smallest one you've found until you spot a smaller one. Read each candidate to its last digit before you click: the last digit decides both the kind and the order. When six or so circles are left, sort them into odds and evens in your head, and the rest goes quickly. A wrong click costs more than a careful one: 3 seconds of cross, then the whole climb again from START.
Assessments
Part of the Air France Cadets selection at ENAC (PSY0) battery as “Pair ou impair”.
The stage opens on it. A board of numbered circles with the first and the last both marked, clicked in one chain that alternates odd and even. The odds and the evens climb as separate ladders, so the circle you want next is often smaller than the one you just clicked. Five boards, a bar with no number on it, and on some boards values only one or two apart, like 239, 241 and 243.
Battery mappings are based on public information and may change.
Two climbs, one path
- START is written inside the first circle. It’s the smallest number of its kind, odd or even.
- Then you alternate: odd, even, odd, even. If START is even, it’s even, odd, even, odd.
- The odd numbers climb, and so do the even ones, each on its own. So the next number can be lower than the one you just clicked: on the board below, 102 is followed by 77, then 222.
- END is written inside the last circle, the largest number on the board.
- A wrong click gets a cross for 3 seconds, then you start again from START. The bar keeps running.
One board
Click every circle in order, from START to END. Watch the two numbers that are only one apart.
Game Phases
START, Not END
Both words sit inside a circle. Read the word before your first click.
Name the Kind
Say odd or even before each search, then look for the smallest one of that kind still on the board.
Expect to Go Down
The odd and the even numbers climb separately, so the next one is often lower than the last.
Read the Last Digit
On the close boards 241 and 243 sit side by side. Check the last digit before you click.
More Practice
Reaction & Attention
19 exercisesComplex Choice Reaction Test
Compare a target figure against four reference shapes and decide within 2.5 seconds whether it matches one of them.
Vigilance Test (VIGIL)
Test your attention and reaction speed. Detect when the moving circle skips a position.
Determination Test (DT)
Test your reaction speed with colors, directional arrows, and sounds across adaptive difficulty levels.
Instrument Monitoring Test
Watch a bank of cockpit gauges and catch the moment any needle drifts out of its green band — before the response window closes.
Perceptual Speed
Compare two strings at a glance and decide — same or different? Rapid-fire detail checking against the clock.
Simple Reaction Time
A single signal appears after an unpredictable delay — respond as fast as you can. Measures your mean reaction time, your fastest response, and how consistent you are. Includes a Pair Match mode in the format of cut-e's Reaction Speed test: press only when two symbols match.
Stroop Test
Name the ink colour, not the word. A colour word streams on screen in a possibly-mismatched ink — select the ink colour and resist reading the word.
Visual Scanning
Sweep a cluttered field and connect the numbers in order — 1, 2, 3 … — as fast as you can find them.
Processing Speed
Learn a digit–symbol key, then match a rapid stream of symbols to their digits as fast as you can. Pure coding speed against the clock.
Attention Switching
Connect scattered numbers and letters in alternating order — 1, A, 2, B, 3, C … — switching mental tracks on every single step.
Auditory Detection Test
Monitor a spoken number stream in your headphones and respond only to the targets — or to the hidden even/odd runs.
Time Anticipation Test
A green ball flies at constant speed, then vanishes before a marked line. Press at the exact moment it would cross — then point to where. Timing error in milliseconds, position error in pixels, in the style of Schuhfried's ZBA.
Signal Detection Test
Watch a dark field of about 25 small white dots that appear and disappear at random, and press the moment four of them form a square. A practice version of SIGNAL, Schuhfried's signal-detection vigilance test in the Vienna Test System, with the S1 white-on-black and S2 black-on-white forms and a sudden-death Challenge mode.
Monitoring Ability Test
Count the blue dots drifting inside a circle and pick the exact number from five buttons before the clock runs out. A faithful practice version of scales cmo, cut-e's name for this test, also called the CUT-E Monitoring Ability Test.
ENAC Symbol Counting
Two counting exercises, and every board gets interrupted twice by a grid of colour words. In Attention 2 you count one symbol among two others that look a lot like it. In Attention 3 you count the x signs, minus after a / and plus again after a +. Each grid stays open for 12 seconds. In Attention 2 you tick the words written in their own colour, and in Attention 3 the ones that aren't. The exam format is 10 boards of each, 90 seconds a board.
ENAC Sustained Attention
You see four characters in four places: NW, NE, SW and SE. Then each board shows four grids of characters, one in each place, and for each place you say whether its own character is in its grid. The grids are built from those same four characters, so only the one that belongs to the place counts. The exam format is 3 series of 5 boards, with 3 minutes for each series.
ENAC Dials Reading
Eight car and aircraft dials, with a table underneath that has a column for each of their ten readings. Tick the value each dial shows. You get to study the dials before the clock starts, and they stay put for the whole run. The exam format is 10 boards in 6 minutes.
ENAC Shapes and Colours
One shape at a time, filled or empty, in one of two colours. Two rules tell you whether to press X or N, and the colour says which rule to use. Each shape shows for half a second, and the exam format is 32 shapes, one every 3.2 seconds.
ENAC Mosaic Count
A black figure made of 16 tiles in a 4 × 4 square, with no lines between them. Count how many there are of each of the ten kinds and type each count under its tile, with a 0 for every kind that isn’t there. The exam format is 24 boards in 10 minutes.
