The final stage takes place at the same assessment centre that KLM pilots attend: the Aviation Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. The AMC runs its assessments on the Schuhfried / Vienna Test System — the standardised battery of computer-based aptitude tests used across much of European aviation selection — so the formats here overlap heavily with the KLM process. This platform's exercises are built around exactly these Schuhfried-style formats, and the KLM Flight Academy course describes the AMC's phases in detail; it is the best companion to this lesson.
What to expect
The AMC battery is known for standardised, strictly timed subtests: reasoning and mental arithmetic, memory, spatial orientation and instrument interpretation, sustained-attention monitoring, and — in the KLM version of the process — sensorimotor coordination tasks flown with joysticks. Because the centre is shared, TUI candidates are meeting the same test system, though the exact selection of subtests a given airline commissions can differ.
To confirm: it is not established from public sources whether TUI's final AMC stage includes both intellectual and senso-motoric (psychomotor) testing, or intellectual testing only. KLM's own process at this centre includes a dedicated sensorimotor phase (the SMO), but whether TUI candidates sit the psychomotor tests there — or only the cognitive and personality tests, having already flown a real 737 MAX simulator earlier in the funnel — should be verified before you rely on it. Prepare for both to be safe.
How to prepare
Because this stage uses the Schuhfried system, the widest-coverage preparation is to train the matching exercises on this platform: Spatial Awareness and Mental Math for the intellectual side, the Vigilance Test for the long monitoring tasks, and the Multitasking Test and Hand-Eye-Foot Coordination Test for the sensorimotor and workload side — plus the Schuhfried-style set built for exactly this kind of battery: the Stroop Test for response inhibition, Visual Scanning for search speed, Processing Speed for digit-symbol coding, Attention Switching for the flexibility tasks, and Simple Reaction Time for the reaction baseline. Work through the KLM Flight Academy course for a phase-by-phase breakdown of the same centre, and remember the theme that runs through the whole TUI funnel: present the same person — same motivation, same profile, same story — at every stage, because a final centre with a full report in front of it is looking above all for consistency.
