Multitasking Test
IntellectualTwo tasks at once: scan number grids for duplicate pairs while answering spoken questions from your phonebook, agenda, mental math and word categories — some of which must be answered at an exact moment on the clock.
Overview
The Multitasking Test is a dual-task vigilance test used in pilot aptitude screening. It measures sustained attention (continuous number scanning), auditory working memory (spoken questions with no visual fallback), temporal precision (answering at an exact second on the clock) and the interference cost of doing all of it simultaneously. Easy mode leaves 4–9 seconds of breathing room between events; hard mode compresses the schedule to 1–2 seconds, demanding constant task switching. Officially this is SIMKAP, Schuhfried's simultaneous-capacity test in the Vienna Test System.

Example: what the test looks like
You do two things at once. On one side you scan grids of four-digit numbers and mark both cells of every duplicate pair within a row. On the other, questions are spoken out loud — never shown — and you click the cell holding the answer. The short loop below plays itself: watch a spoken question get looked up and answered while a number pair is marked.
“What profession does Elizabeth Carter have?”
Spoken · not shownNumbers — mark both cells of every duplicate pair in a row
Answers — listen to the question, then click the right cell
Some questions are timed: instead of answering straight away you're told a moment on the clock — “answer at 2 minutes and 15 seconds” — and must click within ±5 seconds of it. The closer your timing, the more points.
In the real test the question is only heard, so headphones are required. Your score blends three streams — number grids, normal questions and timed questions — so you can't win by focusing on one and ignoring the others, and clicking far more answers than there are questions scales your score down.
Game Phases
Listen
Questions are spoken, never displayed. Normal questions stay answerable for 15 seconds after being asked.
Scan
Find duplicate number pairs within each row of the grid and mark both cells. Finish a grid perfectly for a bonus.
Time it
Timed questions name a target moment. Answer within ±5 seconds — full points at ±1s, fewer as you drift.
Look up
Phonebook and agenda questions require switching the left panel away from the number grid to find the answer.

Multitasking & Planning
8 exercisesPlanning Test
Build a weekly schedule that satisfies every constraint. Pick a scenario, fill the grid with role assignments, and meet every staffing rule before the timer runs out.
Triple Multitasking Test
Verify chained equations, spot duplicate icons, and keep your aircraft in the gap as hazard lines fall. Three tasks, one screen, one five-minute clock.
Motion Challenge
A ball maze planning test in the style of Aon's motionChallenge: slide the blocks clear and steer the orange ball into the black hole in as few moves as you can. Six minutes on the clock, as many puzzles as you can solve, one level up after every solve.
M-TASK Multitasking Test
Three tasks at once in the Schuhfried M-TASK format: work a symbol queue in its stated priority order, fill arithmetic blanks against a time bar, and reorder symbol rows to match a target. One clock, a neglected panel drags the whole score, and every run records a replay. Or go endless in Challenge, where the first mistake ends the run.
Task Manager
Enter new autopilot values quickly and accurately while cancelling red alerts within three seconds — the COMPASS-style two-task screen, on one shared keyboard.
ENAC Marble Tubes
Two boards of three tubes hold the same numbered marbles. Count the fewest moves that turn the top board into the bottom one, then click that number. A move takes the top marble of a tube and puts it on top of another tube. The tubes hold 3, 2 and 3 marbles. The exam format is 10 boards with 20 seconds each.
ENAC Slid Shapes
Two 6 × 6 grids and a tray of pieces. Slide pieces onto your grid until it matches the figure beside it. A light cell of a piece flips the square under it and a dark cell changes nothing, so two light cells on one square cancel out. The exam format is 5 boards with 3 minutes each.
ENAC Airspace Conflict Watch
Aircraft cross two bands of six airways, blue ones from right to left and violet ones from left to right. Each band has a grey zone that can never hold more than 4 aircraft, or more than 2 blue ones. You close airways to keep both zones within their limits, and you divert as few aircraft as you can. The exam format is 10 boards in a row.
