TUI fly

Selection Overview

Lesson 1 of 5•2 min read

TUI fly is the leisure airline of the TUI travel group, flying a Boeing 737 fleet — including the 737-800 and the 737 MAX — from bases across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the Nordics. Its pilot selection is a multi-stage funnel that starts with unsupervised online testing and narrows, stage by stage, to an in-person day, a simulator check and a final assessment centre. This course walks each stage in the order you meet it: what it is, what it measures, and how to prepare.

The stages

  • Online pre-selection: remote modules from Symbiotics' ADAPT suite — the FAST test (a multitask flight scenario) paired with cognitive-reasoning tests, ADAPT's joystick ball task, and an ADAPT psychological/personality questionnaire.

  • In-person assessment day: a short ATPL theory test, a group business-case exercise, a flight-planning case study, and an HR interview.

  • Simulator assessment: a hands-on check flown on a Boeing 737 MAX.

  • Final assessment centre: conducted at the same centre KLM pilots attend — the Aviation Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam, which runs Schuhfried / Vienna Test System assessments.

Each stage is a gate: pass it and you move on, and the earliest stages filter the largest share of candidates, so the online pre-selection is the single most cost-effective thing to prepare for. The lessons that follow take the stages one at a time and link the practice exercises on this platform that train the same demands. One caution before you start: airline selection procedures change often, and TUI's own pages name the stages but not the tests inside them, so always verify the current process on TUI's own careers site before you apply.
