Day 1 is the widest gate in the funnel and the only one you pay for: the COMPASS aptitude test at €245, plus a maths and physics screening where you must score at least 15 out of 20, and an English test. Everything after this day is free — which makes Day 1 the single most cost-effective place to invest your preparation.
What the day involves
COMPASS: roughly 2.5 hours of computer-based subtests covering mental arithmetic, spatial orientation, technical comprehension, memory, hand-eye coordination and multitasking — short tasks, hard time limits, no room for slow starts.
Maths and physics screening: secondary-school material — algebra, ratios, forces, energy, electricity — with a hard 15/20 pass mark, so near enough is not good enough.
English test: comprehension and usage at the level expected of a professional pilot working in an international crew.
How to prepare
The COMPASS Test Preparation course on this platform covers each subtest in depth — work through it rather than guessing at formats on the day. For daily training, the full maths and speed–distance–time games keep your mental arithmetic sharp for both the COMPASS and the 15/20 screening, the technical reasoning and physics knowledge games rebuild the physics fundamentals the screening samples, and the spatial awareness and multitasking games train the coordination-adjacent subtests. Revise your secondary-school maths and physics systematically a few weeks out, and work the aviation english game alongside daily English reading and listening so the English test costs you nothing on the day.
