Wizz Air Cadet Selection

Stage 2: The Symbiotics ADAPT Test

Lesson 6 of 8•2 min read•1 exercise

Stage 2 is a psychological assessment, sat online in one session. On the Pathway Programme it is Symbiotics' ADAPT test, the same battery easyJet uses at the same stage of its cadet selection. It is free and lighter than stage 1, but it is not a formality: candidates are cut here.

How the session runs

  • You choose from a few dates, and the link to a Microsoft Teams call can arrive the evening before or the same morning. Watch your inbox, spam folder included, from the day before.

  • A proctor briefs everyone together. Then you work through the tests in any order, taking breaks when you want.

  • Sessions sometimes fall through on Wizz's side. If nobody appears, write at once and ask for new dates.

The four parts

  • A motivation questionnaire.

  • A long personality inventory; one version runs past 300 items, each answered with a two-way choice.

  • FAST, a task with many elements to track and several versions. Understand how it works before the day. It gives you a first pass and then a second, so take in as much as you can the first time.

  • Cognitive reasoning: mostly reasoning items with a few maths questions, with pen and paper allowed.

The battery can also include English, maths, physics and reasoning-speed tests, so keep your stage 1 revision fresh.

How to prepare

Answer the questionnaires honestly and at a steady pace. The Big Five Personality Test here maps the traits a personality inventory covers, which helps you answer the real one consistently and talk about yourself at the interview. There is no FAST trainer on this platform yet, so make sure you understand the task before you sit it. The result comes by e-mail, usually one to three weeks later, and it is sent either way.

What the test looks like

A worked example from each exercise in this lesson, exactly as the test presents it.

Example: what your result looks like

There are no right or wrong answers. When you finish, your responses are scored across the five domains and shown as a profile like the one below — a radar chart up top, then a card per domain with its band and percentage. Expand a card for a plain-language description or a facet-by-facet breakdown.

Domain overview

Score per domain as a percentage of the maximum. Hover a corner for the exact value; each domain is detailed below.

Openness To Experience

High
83%

Openness to Experience describes a dimension of cognitive style that distinguishes imaginative, creative people from down-to-earth, conventional people.

Your score on Openness to Experience is high, indicating you enjoy novelty, variety, and change. You are curious, imaginative, and creative.

Conscientiousness

Average
70%

Conscientiousness concerns the way in which we control, regulate, and direct our impulses.

Your score on Conscientiousness is average. This means you are reasonably reliable, organized, and self-controlled.

Extraversion

Average
53%

Extraversion is marked by pronounced engagement with the external world.

Your score on Extraversion is average, indicating you are neither a subdued loner nor a jovial chatterbox. You enjoy time with others but also time alone.

Agreeableness

High
80%

Agreeableness reflects individual differences in concern with cooperation and social harmony. Agreeable individuals value getting along with others.

Your high level of Agreeableness indicates a strong interest in others' needs and well-being. You are pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative.

Neuroticism

Low
33%

Neuroticism refers to the tendency to experience negative feelings.

Your score on Neuroticism is low, indicating that you are exceptionally calm, composed and unflappable. You do not react with intense emotions, even to situations that most people would describe as stressful.

This profile is an illustration, not a real score. A high or low band isn't "good" or "bad" — it just describes where your answers sit relative to most people.
