Wizz Air Cadet Selection

The Application File

Lesson 2 of 8•2 min read

Both routes start with an online application on Wizz's careers site, careers.wizzair.com. Apply to the posting for your route: the Pilot Academy or She Can Fly, or the Pathway Programme with Urbe. The file is screened before anything else happens, so get it right the first time.

What to upload

The Pathway Programme asks for:

  • Mandatory: an identity document, your high-school diploma or school-leaving certificate, and a CV with a cover letter.

  • If you have them: an English-language certificate, a class 1 medical certificate, a PPL, your logbook, and a certificate of pending criminal proceedings.

The Academy asks for much the same: an ID or passport, your diploma, an English CV, and a criminal record, class 1 medical and licence if you have them. Neither route needs the medical to apply, but you need it before you enrol.

Getting the file right

  • Write the CV and cover letter in English. Every stage runs in English, and B1 or ICAO Level 4 is the recommended minimum.

  • The Pathway form gives you 100 characters of free text, the Academy form 1,000. Plan one short, exact line rather than an essay.

  • Check everything before you submit. Once the status moves to screening you can no longer edit the application; the only fix is to withdraw it and apply again.

  • The Academy asks your height when you register. Under 160 cm or over 190 cm, Wizz checks in a training device that you can reach every control, and the fee is not refunded if you cannot.

  • Expect nothing but status labels while you wait, which can take from a few hours to several months.

Once your file is accepted, an e-mail invites you to pay the €130 fee for stage 1.
