Overview

The Analogies test measures your verbal reasoning and your ability to recognize relationships between concepts under time pressure. Choose between two versions in the settings: Single Word, where one term is missing from "A is to B as C is to ?", or Word Combination, a harder twist where two terms are blanked out and you must pick the pair that satisfies both sides. Either way, only one of the four options captures the relationship — the others are plausible distractors.

Assessments

Tested in assessments at KLM.

Example: which pair completes the analogy?

Work out the relationship on the side that's complete, then find the pair that makes it hold on both sides. This is the two-blank Word Combination version; the Single Word version blanks just one term.

Baker is toasis to Meat.
Bread … Butcher
Meat … Baker
Bread … Baker
Flour … Butcher
Explanation
Each profession is paired with what they provide: a baker provides bread, a butcher provides meat. So the first blank is the baker's product (bread) and the second is the profession that provides meat (butcher). The distractors swap the two sides, repeat a word already given, or pick something merely related (flour).

ENAC Word Boxes

Six empty boxes sit round the screen, and words appear one at a time in the middle. Each box takes one field of words, like fruit or weather, but nothing tells you which. Click the box each word belongs in. The first word of a field can go in any empty box, and a wrong box sends the word back for later. Each field's own name shows up after its four other words. The exam format is 5 boards of 30 words, with 2.5 seconds a word.
