Transavia

Flying for Transavia and Selection Overview

Lesson 1 of 3•1 min read

Transavia is the Dutch low-cost carrier of the Air France-KLM group, flying a dense European leisure network from its Dutch bases. Its long-standing all-Boeing 737 fleet is in the middle of a transition to the Airbus A320neo and A321neo, which makes the coming years an active period for pilot recruitment — and for cadets and low-hour pilots looking for a route into the group.

How the selection is structured

  • Online testing: Transavia's selection uses the COMPASS aptitude test and the CPP (Checklist Professional Pilot) personality profile.

  • Test centre: testing is conducted at EPST in Utrecht, with a candidate fee of around €400 paid to EPST.

  • Later stages: beyond the tests, selection is reported to include interview and simulator or assessment stages before a final decision.

The tests at EPST are the widest gate and the most trainable one, so that is where the next lesson concentrates; the final lesson covers the later stages. Selection procedures evolve — verify the current process on the airline's own careers site.
