Passing stage 3 earns you a training place, not yet a course date. CAE lists the upcoming intakes and you choose one, but the seat is secured only when CAE has your signed training agreement and a valid Class 1 medical: first come, first served, with around 24 places per course. When courses are full the wait for a start date can be long, so have your medical done before the assessment day.
What the price covers
For EASA contracts from July 2026 the programme costs €115,000. That covers ATPL theory, all ground and flight training, the exams and the A320 type rating, plus the return trip to the flight-training base in Phoenix. It does not cover accommodation, food and living costs, the initial Class 1 medical, the FAA medical needed for the US phase, or an iPad. Allow roughly €20,000 to €40,000 on top of the course price for living costs across the whole programme. The training agreement includes a limited, conditional cover if you have to leave training, which is not a full refund, so read its conditions before you sign.
When you pay
Payments follow the phases. A deposit of about €9,000 is due around two weeks before theory starts, then a larger payment before the Phoenix phase and further payments before each phase in Milan, each due between ten days and a month before that phase begins. In the first year you pay only the deposit. CAE does not ask for proof of funds, and the assessment day asks nothing about how you will pay.
The training path
The MPL takes a little over two years. For EASA cadets, about ten months of ATPL theory come first (in Madrid, as CAE is closing its Brussels centre), then basic flying at CAE's academy in Phoenix, Arizona, typically five to seven months and often longer, then an upset-recovery course in England, then the A320 type rating and the MPL's multi-crew phases at CAE Milan, and finally easyJet's own induction. UK cadets' training locations can differ, so check yours in your training agreement. Delays in Phoenix matter: easyJet does not run inductions in the summer peak, and missing the window can cost you months.
The job
Cadets receive a conditional letter of employment with easyJet, conditional on completing training. You join as a Second Officer and become a First Officer after 1,250 hours and two years. Your first base is allocated late in training, and your employment contract follows the country of that base.
