Condor, Germany's leisure carrier, recruits pilots through two routes. The Condor Ab-initio Program (CAP) is a 24-month MPL(A) course including an A320 type rating, run with TFC Käufer in Essen, costing around €89,000 paid in instalments, with roughly 15 cadets per course; 2026/27 course starts include 13 July 2026, 26 October 2026 and 25 January 2027. Direct entry is open to holders of an EASA ATPL, a CPL(IR) with ATPL theory, or an MPL — low-hour pilots are eligible, with type-rated candidates preferred.
The two selection stages
Stage 1 — Basic Qualification: run by the selection company Interpersonal (ip) in Hamburg, combining cognitive tests with the MOZARD psychomotor test.
Stage 2 — Corporate Qualification: Condor's own suitability assessment and interviews.
One point deserves emphasis: Condor explicitly does not recognise DLR certificates — neither a positive nor a negative result carries over — so every candidate faces the full ip testing regardless of Lufthansa Group history. The next lessons take the two stages in turn. Selection procedures evolve — verify the current process on the airline's own careers site.
