RWL German Flight Academy is one of Germany's largest independent flight schools, training pilots at Mönchengladbach Airport in the Rhineland since 1972. Holding EASA Approved Training Organisation certificate DE.ATO.002, it delivers the full spectrum of professional training, from PPL and CB-IR through to integrated and modular ATPL, all from a single, well-equipped home base with more than five decades of experience behind it.
Training at RWL German Flight Academy
RWL concentrates theory, simulator and flight training at Mönchengladbach, taking students from zero experience to a frozen ATPL on either the integrated or modular route. Its most prominent airline link is a cadet scheme with Luxair, through which sponsored candidates complete their ab-initio training at the academy before joining the Luxembourg flag carrier, and as an independent school its graduates move on to a broad range of German and European operators rather than a single captive airline.
Admission starts with the academy's own entrance selection, built around computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing alongside interviews and English and maths checks. Airline-sponsored places such as the Luxair cadetship add a second, airline-run assessment on top, so candidates who have trained the underlying reasoning, multitasking and spatial skills beforehand give themselves a real advantage at both hurdles.
