Prepare for ITA Airways

One course prepares you for the ITA Airways selection process.

Candidate accounts consistently point to DLR at ITA Airways' MPL cadet selection.

ITA Airways publishes nothing about it, so treat it as the likely battery rather than a settled fact.

A DLR aptitude certificate is an entry requirement for the MPL cadet selection; ITA then runs its own group exercises, psychologist and captain interviews and a simulator assessment. Direct-entry pilot recruitment uses a separate process with no publicly named provider.

Provider mappings are based on public information and may change. Last checked September 2026.

ITA Airways is the flag carrier of Italy, created in 2021 as the successor to Alitalia and part of the Lufthansa Group since January 2025. From its hub at Rome Fiumicino it operates an all-Airbus fleet spanning the A220, A320neo family, A330neo and A350, and in April 2026 it completed its move from SkyTeam to Star Alliance as part of its integration into the group.

Flying for ITA Airways

ITA Airways has been rebuilding its pilot corps quickly, recruiting experienced direct-entry pilots alongside cadet campaigns open to candidates with no previous flying hours, who are trained ab-initio towards a First Officer role on the A320 family. As integration with the Lufthansa Group deepens, recruitment is increasingly aligned with the group's wider pilot pipelines, with intakes announced periodically.

Selection combines computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing with English-language screening, technical and HR interviews, and simulator evaluation for experienced applicants. With large cadet fields chasing limited places, candidates who have trained on comparable aptitude exercises consistently arrive better prepared.
