Etihad Aviation Training is the training arm of the Etihad Aviation Group, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A GCAA-approved training organisation, it delivers cadet, flight crew and technical training for Etihad Airways and third-party customers, and runs the airline's flagship Cadet Pilot Programme.
Training at Etihad Aviation Training
Its cadet training relaunched in 2025 as a programme for UAE nationals, taking selected candidates from no flying experience towards an Etihad Airways First Officer career. Ground school and simulator phases are delivered at its Abu Dhabi training centre, while the ab-initio flying phase is currently conducted with partner school FTEJerez in southern Spain before cadets return for airline and type-rating training.
Places are awarded through a multi-stage selection run by Etihad, combining computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing with interviews, group exercises and medical checks. With an airline career decided at the assessment stage, candidates who have practised pilot aptitude tests thoroughly stand a markedly better chance of securing one of the limited cadet places.
Where Etihad Aviation Training trains
