Prepare for STARLUX Airlines
No STARLUX Airlines course yet
Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.
STARLUX Airlines is Taiwan's newest international carrier, founded in 2018 by a former EVA Air chairman and flying since 2020 from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It operates an all-Airbus fleet of A321neos on regional routes with A330neos and A350-1000s on long-haul services to North America, and has built its brand on a deliberately premium product rather than on scale.
Flying for STARLUX Airlines
STARLUX runs a fully sponsored cadet programme, which is rare enough to be the main reason to look at it: selected cadets train in the United States or Australia for about a year to a Commercial Pilot Licence, then complete roughly six months of aircraft conversion, with tuition and living expenses carried by the airline. The catch is eligibility — the programme is open only to ROC citizens holding a valid national identification card, with an associate's degree or above. Experienced pilots are recruited separately, and expatriate First Officers need a type rating on the A320 or A350 family plus around 1,500 hours.
Because the airline funds the cadet route outright, selection carries the whole risk and is correspondingly hard: aptitude and psychometric testing, English assessment, interviews and a class 1 medical stand between an applicant and a funded seat. For a self-funding candidate the money buys the training; here it is the test result that does, which makes the cognitive stage the thing worth preparing for.
