No SAS Scandinavian Airlines course yet

Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with its main hub at Copenhagen supported by bases in Stockholm and Oslo, and its head office in Solna, just north of Stockholm. Following a restructuring that brought in Air France-KLM as a major shareholder, SAS left Star Alliance and joined SkyTeam in 2024. The airline flies an Airbus A320neo-family short-haul fleet alongside A330s and A350s on long-haul routes.

Flying for SAS Scandinavian Airlines

SAS recruits Cadet First Officers with little or no airline experience for its Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo bases, with courses feeding crews into upcoming summer seasons, alongside ongoing direct-entry First Officer recruitment. Its ab-initio pipeline includes an MPL partnership with the CAPA flight academy at Roskilde near Copenhagen, which trains cadets with a conditional job offer from the airline; intake volumes track the airline's fleet and network plans.

Selection assesses technical knowledge, decision-making, CRM aptitude and psychomotor skills through computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing, interviews and simulator evaluation, and successful cadets commit to a multi-year training bond. SAS reviews applications continuously and can close postings at short notice, so candidates who have already trained their aptitude and cognitive test skills are best placed to move quickly.
