Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.

One Air Aviation is a Spanish airline pilot academy founded in 2010 by a group of commercial pilots and instructors, headquartered in a 5,000-square-metre campus beside Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport. An AESA-approved, EASA-recognised ATO (E-ATO 190) and official licensing examination centre, it operates one of the larger glass-cockpit training fleets in Spain — more than thirty Diamond, Cirrus and Tecnam aircraft — alongside an extensive simulator centre with Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 devices.

Training at One Air Aviation

The academy offers integrated and modular ATPL routes as well as a university airline pilot programme that includes an A320 type rating, with ground school and the instrument, multi-engine and commercial phases flown from Málaga and the initial visual flying phase based at the La Axarquía aerodrome near Vélez-Málaga, where most of the fleet is stationed. While it is not currently a named partner school in any airline's official cadet programme, it prepares candidates specifically for airline selection processes and its graduates fly with carriers including Ryanair, Vueling, easyJet and Iberia.

Admission is based on academic prerequisites, with an in-house entrance test for applicants who lack them, and the real selection hurdle for most students comes later at the airlines themselves, whose recruitment relies heavily on computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing. Building those skills early — alongside the flying — is what turns a licence into a job offer, which is why sustained practice of pilot aptitude assessments pays off throughout training.

Where One Air Aviation trains

Flight training takes place in Vélez-Málaga. Málaga covers both theory and flight.
