Prepare for IndiGo

2 courses prepare you for the IndiGo selection process.

IndiGo screens with ADAPT at the cadet selection (aptitude stage).

The ADAPT battery is sat at the first assessment stage run by IndiGo's partner training academies; the group discussion and final interview that follow are conducted by IndiGo itself.

IndiGo is by some distance India's largest airline, carrying the majority of the country's domestic traffic on an all-Airbus A320-family fleet supplemented by ATR 72-600s on regional routes, with A350-900s ordered for its move into long-haul. Founded in 2006 and headquartered at Gurugram, it operates from bases including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad on a high-utilisation, low-cost model, and its order book of several hundred aircraft is one of the largest anywhere. Scale of that kind creates a structural, permanent demand for first officers.

Flying for IndiGo

The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme is the airline's ab-initio pipeline and it is deliberately distributed rather than centralised. Domestically it trains through CAE's National Flying Training Institute at Gondia, Chimes Aviation Academy at Dhana and Neemuch, and Garuda Aviation Academy at Gurugram; internationally it uses Skyborne, L3Harris, NZICPA, Flight Training Adelaide and Insight Aviation across the United States, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Skyborne alone signed a five-year extension to train up to a hundred cadets a year. The programme is self-funded, and IndiGo also recruits type-rated and experienced first officers directly.

Selection is run jointly between the partner academies and the airline. Stage one is a face-to-face assessment at the academy built on the Symbiotics ADAPT battery — aptitude tests, an English test and a personality questionnaire — and only candidates who clear it reach the group discussion and final interview, which IndiGo conducts itself. That split matters: the airline never sees an applicant whose aptitude scores did not pass, so the ADAPT stage functions as the real gate on the programme, and it is a battery whose formats are well enough defined to train for.
