Prepare for Finnair
Finnair screens with Selex Oy at the MPL cadet selection.
This applies to the MPL cadet programme; Finnair does not publish which battery direct-entry pilots sit. Older third-party pages still list cut-e for Finnair, but Finnair's current material names Selex Oy.
No Finnair-specific course yet
Finnair's selection uses Selex Oy, which we do not train for specifically. The general aptitude course still covers the abilities it measures.
Provider mappings are based on public information and may change. Last checked September 2026.
Finnair is the flag carrier of Finland and a member of the Oneworld alliance, operating from its hub at Helsinki Airport with a long-haul fleet led by the Airbus A350 alongside A330s and an A320-family short-haul fleet. One of the world's oldest continuously operating airlines, it has repositioned its network towards westbound long-haul and European flying following the closure of Russian airspace.
Flying for Finnair
Finnair trains new pilots through an MPL cadet programme delivered with Center Air Pilot Academy in Roskilde, Denmark, taking candidates from zero hours to a First Officer role on the A320; application windows open periodically, with the most recent round closing in spring 2026. Experienced direct-entry recruitment runs separately when crew planning requires.
Cadet selection is conducted with the Finnish aviation psychology specialist Selex and moves through computer-based aptitude testing, psychological assessment, group exercises and interviews across several stages. The process rewards candidates who have practised aptitude and cognitive testing well before a window opens.
