Prepare for Epic Flight Academy
No Epic Flight Academy course yet
Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.
Epic Flight Academy is one of the largest flight schools in the United States, headquartered at New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport in Florida and training pilots since 1999. Operating under FAA Part 141 approval, it is known for a genuinely international student body, having trained pilots from dozens of countries, and has expanded from its Florida home into a network of flight training bases across the country.
Training at Epic Flight Academy
Epic's flagship offering is its zero-time airline pilot programme, taking students from first flight through commercial licences and instrument, multi-engine and instructor ratings, with many graduates building hours as instructors at the academy itself. Its airline connections are formalised through pathway agreements advertised on its own pages, including United Airlines' Aviate programme, Envoy Air and Republic Airways, which give students a defined bridge from training aircraft to a US regional or mainline flight deck.
Admission runs through Epic's own entrance assessment covering English and mathematics, alongside an FAA medical and, for international students, TSA clearance before training can begin. The airline pathways that follow add their own selection hurdles, from Aviate interviews to regional airline screening with computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing, so cadets who sharpen their reasoning, mental maths and multitasking skills early carry that advantage through every gate between enrolment and the airline seat.
Where Epic Flight Academy trains
Flight training takes place in Ocala, St. George, and Addison. New Smyrna Beach covers both theory and flight.
