Envoy Air is a wholly owned regional subsidiary of American Airlines Group, headquartered in Irving, Texas, and one of the largest regional carriers in the United States. It flies an all-Embraer jet fleet of E170 and E175 aircraft as American Eagle, feeding American's hubs across North America, with further new E175 deliveries on order.

Flying for Envoy Air

Envoy runs a long-established Cadet Program in partnership with universities and flight schools across the United States, supporting student pilots with mentorship and financial incentives as they build hours towards their ATP minima. Its defining advantage is the seniority-based flow-through agreement with American Airlines: Envoy pilots progress to the mainline carrier without an additional interview, with the flow historically taking on the order of six years.

Candidates face computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing alongside HR and technical interviews, with training conducted at Envoy's Irving headquarters near Dallas/Fort Worth. Because the cadet route effectively doubles as the front door to American Airlines, standards are high from the first assessment, and practising pilot aptitude and cognitive tests in advance pays off well before the first sim session.
