Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.

Endeavor Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines operating as Delta Connection, flying a large fleet of Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets from bases including Minneapolis-St Paul, Detroit, New York-JFK and Atlanta. It is the largest of Delta's regional partners and exists solely to feed the mainline network.

Flying for Endeavor Air

Endeavor's distinguishing feature is contractual rather than operational: it is the only regional carrier offering pilots a guaranteed, contractual career path to Delta with no further testing or interview. Entry is through Delta's Propel programme, where a successful candidate receives a conditional job offer with Endeavor and begins a defined path toward the mainline. Advancement runs through the Career Advancement Program, which requires 24 months of active service as an Endeavor Captain plus a clean record on training, discipline and attendance.

That guarantee makes the front door the hard part: selection happens at the Delta end, through application review, required testing and an in-person interview, and a candidate who fails as an outside-the-system Delta candidate loses eligibility to advance through the Endeavor pathway. The testing stage is therefore doing double duty — it gates both the regional job and the mainline seat behind it.
