Condor is Germany's long-established leisure carrier, headquartered in Frankfurt and independent of the big airline groups since its separation from Thomas Cook, today owned by investment firm Attestor. It flies a renewed fleet of Airbus A330neo widebodies on long-haul leisure routes and A320-family aircraft on short- and medium-haul, and belongs to none of the three global alliances.
Flying for Condor
Condor does not run its own ab-initio scheme but is one of the more accessible German airlines for newly qualified pilots, regularly hiring low-hour First Officers with a frozen ATPL alongside type-rated and experienced crews for its A320 and A330neo fleets. Recruitment campaigns run periodically in line with fleet growth and seasonal demand.
Assessment is conducted with the Hamburg-based selection specialist Interpersonal and centres on the computer-based MOZARD test battery, followed by interviews and further evaluation; notably, Condor runs its own screening and does not accept DLR certificates from other selections, so familiarity with computer-based aptitude formats before assessment day is a genuine advantage.
