Prepare for Binter Canarias
No Binter Canarias course yet
Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.
Binter Canarias is the airline of the Canary Islands, flying ATR 72-600 turboprops on the inter-island network and Embraer E195-E2 jets on longer routes to mainland Spain, Portugal, Morocco and West Africa. Its inter-island operation is one of the highest-frequency short-sector networks in Europe, which gives its pilots an unusually high number of sectors per duty.
Flying for Binter Canarias
Entry requirements are precise and worth reading before applying. Candidates need an EASA licence — at minimum ATPL theory complete, or a valid CPL or MPL — with a current instrument rating, a completed MCC course and a current class 1 medical, plus an EU passport valid six months or more, as no visa sponsorship is offered, and a clean criminal record for the preceding five years. The ATR 42/72-600 type rating is desirable but not mandatory and Binter covers the cost for pilots recruited through its official selection process, with progression to the E195-E2 typically following experience on the ATR.
The requirement most likely to catch out a non-Spanish applicant is language: ICAO English level 4 is mandatory, but so is demonstrable Spanish at level 5. That is a substantially higher bar than the English-only requirement at most European operators, and it needs planning for well ahead of the aptitude and simulator stages.
