Astonfly runs its own battery at the admission assessment — Évaluation d'admission Astonfly, with no commercial vendor behind it.
Astonfly runs its own admission evaluation: a timed cognitive battery plus aeronautical knowledge and maths/physics papers, valid for 12 months. Candidates entering through the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy sit an additional group assessment and interview at the Toussus-le-Noble campus.

Astonfly is a French airline pilot academy based at Toussus-le-Noble Airport, around twenty kilometres south-west of Paris, founded in 2004 by Charles Clair and part of the Clair Group. A DGAC/EASA-approved ATO with a 7,500-square-metre campus, a fleet of Cessna 172s and Diamond DA42s and its own simulator suite, it graduates around 150 pilots a year and ranks among the largest private flight academies in France.
Training at Astonfly
Astonfly delivers its ATPL theory and all flying phases from the single Toussus-le-Noble campus, alongside Boeing 737 MAX fixed-base simulator training and a Multi Airlines Program whose alumni fly with dozens of carriers across Europe. Its flagship pathway is the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy France, launched in May 2026 with Astonfly as Ryanair's exclusive French partner: cadets receive a conditional job offer before training begins and a Ryanair-funded Boeing 737 type rating, under a programme targeting four to five hundred new pilots over four years.
Selection runs in two stages: an online pre-selection covering logic, reasoning, English and psychometric testing with video responses, followed by a group assessment and individual interview at the campus. With an airline job offer attached to a Future Flyer place, the computer-based aptitude and psychometric stages carry real consequence, and candidates who have trained those skills systematically arrive with a clear edge.
