Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.

Air Peace is Nigeria's largest airline, headquartered in Lagos and operating domestic, regional and international services including long-haul flights to London. Its fleet mixes Boeing 737s and 777s with Embraer E195-E2, E175 and ERJ145 jets, and the airline holds firm orders for further E2-family aircraft as it expands across West and Central Africa. Privately owned and founded in 2014, it has grown into the dominant carrier in the Nigerian market.

Flying for Air Peace

Air Peace recruits pilots primarily through direct entry onto its Boeing and Embraer fleets, hiring both locally and through international crew agencies as the fleet grows; its expanding E195-E2 and E175 order book means steady demand for rated and experienced crews. The airline does not currently advertise a formal ab-initio cadet programme, so low-hour pilots typically build experience elsewhere before applying, though the carrier's rapid growth has created opportunities for Nigerian pilots to progress quickly once on the seniority list.

Candidates face document and licence screening, technical interviews, simulator assessment and computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing. As at most fast-growing carriers, assessors look for sharp instrument scanning, mental arithmetic and workload management, and practising these cognitive skills in advance is a sensible way to prepare.
