Prepare for Air France

2 courses prepare you for the Air France selection process.

Air France screens with ENAC (AF Cadets) at the cadet test stages (PSY0 and PSY1).

Cadets sit PSY0 online from home, then PSY1 over one day, in Toulouse or in Paris depending on the year, then PSY2, two personality inventories, a group exercise and an individual interview, at Air France's selection department at Roissy. Qualified pilots apply through a separate route that skips PSY0 and may add a simulator test.

Provider mappings are based on public information and may change. Last checked September 2026.

Air France is the flag carrier of France, flying from a principal hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle and a domestic and leisure base at Orly, with a fleet spanning the Airbus A220-300 and A320 family on short-haul and the A350, Boeing 777 and 787 on long-haul. A founding member of SkyTeam and half of the Air France-KLM group, it carries the French network across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia, and operates the low-cost carrier Transavia France alongside its mainline. Its cadet route is unusually generous: the airline selects candidates with little or no flying experience and pays for their training in full.

Flying for Air France

The Air France Cadet Program takes candidates with little or no flying experience and trains them at the airline's expense over two to two and a half years at one of its partner schools: nine months of ATPL theory, then fifteen to twenty-one months of flying and simulator training up to the CPL, IR/ME and MCC. Cadets are employed from the start on a permanent work-and-train contract paid as a share of the French minimum wage, and graduates become first officers on the Airbus A220 or A320 family at Air France, or on the Boeing 737 and A320neo at Transavia, with no choice of airline or type. Application windows are short and annual (the 2026 campaign ran from 15 June to 31 July), and the airline recruits qualified pilots through a separate route.

Selection runs in three eliminatory stages and is psychometric before it is anything else. PSY0 is an online pre-selection sat from home: logic, reasoning, aviation general knowledge and an advanced English test, which replaced the TOEIC requirement in 2026. PSY1 is a full day of psychotechnical and psychomotor tests at ENAC's Toulouse campus, and PSY2 brings two personality inventories, a group exercise and an individual interview at Air France's selection centre at Roissy. The programme is deliberately open to a wide range of profiles, from recent graduates and science students to career changers, which means the tests, not a flying background, are what actually differentiate candidates.
