No Aeros Flight Training course yet
Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.
Aeros Flight Training is one of the UK's longest-established modular flight training schools, headquartered at Gloucestershire Airport near Gloucester and training pilots since 1986. Operating as a UK CAA Approved Training Organisation, it has built a reputation as a modular ATPL specialist, taking career changers and self-funded students through flexible, pay-as-you-go routes to the flight deck across a network of bases in England and Wales.
Training at Aeros Flight Training
Aeros covers the full modular pathway, from the PPL and hour building through the CPL, multi-engine instrument rating and ATPL theory to instructor ratings, delivered from its Gloucester headquarters and flying bases at Cardiff, Leeds East and Wellesbourne. Its standing in the modular sector was underlined when it was named among the modular training partners for the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy from 2026, a role widely reported in the aviation press that places its graduates on a recognised route towards one of Europe's flag carriers.
Because the school is modular, entry to training itself is flexible, with candidates typically needing a Class 1 medical and sound academic fundamentals rather than passing a formal selection board. The competitive filter comes later: places on airline-linked routes such as the Speedbird Pilot Academy are won through demanding airline selection, including computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing, so building those skills early through structured practice gives modular students a genuine edge when the airline opportunity arrives.
Where Aeros Flight Training trains
