Most operators screen with the same aptitude tests, so a general assessment course still covers the bulk of the selection.
AeroGuard Flight Training Center is one of the larger professional flight academies in the United States, headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, with additional campuses across the country in regions chosen for favourable flying weather and varied airspace. It trains pilots from zero experience to airline-ready under FAA rules and has built a strong reputation as a high-volume, career-focused academy feeding the US airline industry.
Training at AeroGuard Flight Training Center
AeroGuard is best known for its accelerated Pilot Pathway Program, which takes students with no prior experience through all the required FAA certificates and ratings and on toward an airline career, typically over roughly two to two-and-a-half years. The school is well known for its airline partnership routes, including a cadet pathway with SkyWest, the largest US regional airline, that can lead to a guaranteed first officer interview and, in turn, onward opportunities with major carriers.
Entry is based on program prerequisites and a selection and enrolment process rather than a European-style cadet aptitude battery, with student housing offered at most campuses to support relocating trainees. Even so, AeroGuard's airline-oriented structure and partner pathways mean cadets are working toward the same goal as any aspiring airline pilot, making solid preparation for pilot aptitude and airline assessments a sensible investment alongside the flying training itself.
