Prepare for Academia Antioqueña de Aviación

Academia Antioqueña de Aviación runs its own battery at the admission stage — Prueba psicotécnica (Factores Humanos), with no commercial vendor behind it.

The psychometric test is run by the academy's own Human Factors team as step two of admission, with results published about eight days later.

No Academia Antioqueña de Aviación-specific course yet

Academia Antioqueña de Aviación's selection uses Prueba psicotécnica (Factores Humanos), which we do not train for specifically. The general aptitude course still covers the abilities it measures.

Academia Antioqueña de Aviación traces its roots to 1949, when it began life as the Aeroclub de Medellín, making it one of Colombia's longest-established pilot training institutions. Based at Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellín and operating under Colombia's Aerocivil RAC 141 framework with ISO 9001 certification, it trains pilots, cabin crew and aircraft technicians for the Colombian aviation sector.

Training at Academia Antioqueña de Aviación

The academy's core offering runs from the private pilot licence through to the commercial pilot licence, alongside programmes for line maintenance technicians and cabin crew, with flying conducted from its main base at Olaya Herrera in Medellín and a sub-base at Santa Ana Airport in Cartago. It describes strategic alliances with airlines, maintenance organisations and the Colombian Air Force, and its seven-decade history has placed graduates throughout Colombian commercial aviation, though it does not run a single-airline cadet scheme.

Admission follows the standard Colombian route of academic prerequisites, an Aerocivil aviation medical and the academy's own enrolment process, after which graduates compete for first-officer positions with Avianca, LATAM Colombia and the region's other operators. Those airline selection boards lean heavily on computer-based aptitude and psychometric testing, so building familiarity with this style of assessment during training pays off when the airline interviews arrive.
